Regular Board Meeting
April 9, 2018
All Board Members present as was Clerk Christen
General; 8 in attendance
Chair Fahey called the meeting to order and stated the meeting had been properly posted.
Minutes: March 12, 2018, MOTION (MG/RZ), all in favor, approved.
Treasurer Report:March ending balance was $425,118.98, MOTION (RZ/MG), all in favor. TRIP reimbursement ($25,800) had been received in April.
Clerk Christen reported-
-there were 519 voters at the April election, 31 registrants and 23 absentee voters
-Emergency grant, approval for up to 70% reimbursement from the state on OT and equipment use
-New Glarus Library has requested fund donation, will be placed on the May agenda
-Plan Commission meeting set for May, two land divisions on the agenda
Chair Fahey then read the letter of Certification for Clerk Christen. Clerk Christen had recently received Wisconsin Municipal Clerk Certification honor.
Chair Fahey reported-
-2018 road work bids are due May 3 and will be opened for approval at the May 14, meeting.
-Government Days at Green County- 3 reservations
-Mark Gundlach had been elected as Green County District Supervisor 29, replacing Betty Grotophorst and Jody Hoesly was elected for Chair Fahey’s District 26 seat, Citizen

Park meeting scheduled for April 10 6:30pm.
Unfinished Business:Stefan Smith inquired about the road closure meting and recent forms he had been sent. Clerk Christen instructed him to complete the forms and submit them; the residents of the road must petition the board for the closure. He will contact the clerk to meet and complete the forms in the office.
-Hughes road drainage issues- Supervisor Gundlach reported that Chris/ DNR will meet with the residents and board to discuss options if any. He advised this will need to be settled between the land owners. Tile or drainage ditch will not be allowed, creek is a Brook Trout spawning area.
Brad Banfield, an engineer, discussed options in opinion with a fast shot of grade and walk around of the area.
Chair Fahey read what a special assessment could be used for, there is a process and a lawyer would be involved at the expense of the residents.
Chair Fahey will speak with the surrounding land owner regarding access.
Banfield noted it would roughly be $6-8,000 for a couple days of surveying and 40 hours to create elevations.
-2018/19 State salt contract- application received, must be submitted to receive the bids; amount applied for will remain the same as 2017/18
-natural gas conversion for the town hall/shop, application received for submittal. MOTION (MG/RZ) to complete and submit, all in favor, approved.
-Gardiner Appraisal Open Book and BOR dates set- Open Book to be held May 24, 3:30-5:30 PM and BOR will be May 31, 6:30 to 8:30 PM.
