Regular Board Meeting

September 11, 2017

All board members present as was Clerk Christen.

General: 4 citizens

Chair Fahey noted the meeting had been properly posted.


Minutes:  August 14, 2017, MOTION (MG/RZ), all in favor, approved.

Treasurer Report: August ending balance was $470,705.26, Shared Revenue and August tax settlement ($109,694.83) was received, MOTION (RZ/MG), all in favor, approved.


Announcements: Clerk Christen noted the change of assessment notices had been sent out by Gardiner Appraisal. Dates set for Open Book (9/16/2017, 8-10 AM) and BOR (9/20/2017, 6-8 PM)

Chair Fahey talked about the Equalized Value, the Clerk had presented the board with the report in August.


Citizen Input:

              Linda Derrickson was present to discuss fencing issues along the border of her property.  After the board discussed the issues with Linda Chair Fahey stated he would contact the WTA regarding the issues.  Linda will mail a letter to her neighbor seeking a resolution in the meantime.

              Stefan Smith was present to discuss the closure of West Street for safety concerns and the adjustment of setbacks.  Resident and neighbor Carol Olson is on board with the closure but Dale Ryan has some concerns yet. Chair Fahey stated he would talk to neighbor Dale Ryan regarding the closure and extension of Havens Street.

              Betty Grotophorst asked for a speed reduction in Dayton.  She noted with the semis hauling waste for a number of days through Dayton the speed is apparently over the limit.  Chair fahey instructed Betty to contact Green County Sheriff Department for enforcement and he would also contact the Highway Department to request a speed reduction study.  Chair Fahey will ask the State to do a study for future speed reduction.

Committee Report:

              Supervisor Gundlach reported on the Exeter Park Anniversary event- it was well attended, 300-400 people served.  $2,860.00 received in donations plus a previous $500.  It was a great day and everything went very well.  October 3, 2017 will be the next meeting of the Park Committee

              Recycling Center meeting needs to be scheduled-the board instructed the Clerk to order yellow stickers.

Old business:

               Supervisor Zweifel reported he spoke to Mr. Wolf regarding the land purchase.  Mr. Wolf stated he would have to have an additional $6,000 over the agreed upon price to clear the title and complete the purchase.   The board is not willing to seek residents’ approval for the extra expense; they feel that the cost is not a reasonable amount for the small portion of land.  The board is willing to sit on it and let him sell it to someone else.


New Business:

              -LP contract- Landmark contract was reviewed and the board will pay as we go.  Connecting onto Natural gas       was discussed.  Clerk Christen will contact WE Energies about connection cost.

              -Green County Non-Discrimination agreement-MOTION (MG/RZ), all in favor, approved

              -Green County 2018 Tax Collection contract; fee is the same as 2016 ($250 flat fee plus $1.00 per parcel), MOTION (RZ/MG) all in favor, approved


Bills: MOTION (MG/RZ) all in favor, approved
