Regular Board Meeting
June 12, 2017
All board members present as was Clerk Christen.
General: 3 citizens
Chair Fahey called the meeting to order and noted the meeting had been properly posted.
Minutes: May 8, 2017, MOTION (MG/RZ), all in favor, approved.
Treasurer Report: May ending balance was $464,720.18. MOTION (RZ/MG), all in favor, approved.
Announcements: Clerk Christen explained to the board the voter maintenance currently being done by the Elections Board and the cards that are being mailed out to registered voters that have not voted in the last 4 years. The snowplow truck towing fee has been paid by Rural Mutual.
Travis DeSmet has donated his fees associated with removal of the snowplow truck from the ditch. The 2017 Recycling Grant has been received and there was a slight increase in it.
Chair Fahey noted that two freestanding cell towers are being constructed in the town, the issuance of driveway permits, and the injury of a firefighter at the fund raising fish boil.

Parks- (Mark) 10th year Anniversary picnic set for September 10th. There will be food, bouncy house, a band and other activities. Picnic donations will be sought. The Boy Scouts will be having an educational gathering at the park August 18, 19, and 20. John Dohm will be building an 11.5’ x 30’ shelter as part of his Eagle Scout requirement. Next meeting will be June 19th for sub-committees, July 6th for regular park meeting.
Senior citizens- (Roger) reported on the financial accounts. The meals may be canceled due poor attendance.
Unfinished business: Green County Leaders have applied for a grant, $13,000-15,000, for broadband assistance in Green County.
Hellenbrand Septic CUP request- Mark Hellenbrand, W3978 Tunnel Road, New Glarus, WI 53574, has requested a Conditional Use Permit for the installation of a 5,000 gallon holding tank to be used for the transfer of human waste from truck to truck.
Recommendation for approval by the Plan Commission with the following conditions:
-Hours of operation-7 am to 5 pm; 7 days a week, extra hours allowance for emergency situations.
-No outside or other companies allowed using tank, exclusive use by Hellenbrand Septic Service only.
-Storage of human waste only as well as collection of waters used for washing the trucks of human waste.
-Tank lids are required to be safely secured at all times.
MOTION (MG/RZ) to approve the Plan Commission recommendation of the CUP request with the above mentioned limits, all in favor, approved.
Road bids submitted for TRIP project- Three bids had been received as follows:
Scott Construction-$196,444.00 (virgin blacktop)
Payne and Dolan- $179,436.00 (additional $28,150 for virgin blacktop)
Green County Hwy (estimate)-$163,500 (recycle blacktop); discussion followed.
MOTION (RZ/MG) to approve Green County Highway for the project, all in favor, approved.
Belleville Fire Association agreement- Exeter’s attorney has reviewed and the recommended changes have been made, MOTION (MG/RZ) to approve the agreement at the Association meeting June 13th, all in favor, approved.
Ordinance 17-12-06-Exemption of Treasurer Bond for tax collections. Clerk Christen explained the request made by the Green County Treasurer and the purpose of the Ordinance. MOTION (RZ/MG) to approve Ordinance 17-12-06, all in favor, approved.
Operators and Liquor License for Edelweiss Chalet Country Club-8 Operator license had been applied for as well as the Liquor and beer, MOTION (MG/RZ), all in favor, approved.
Bills- Motion (RZ/MG) all in favor, approved.
